Whangamata Community Services Trust (formerly known as 'Te Whare Iwi') started in someone's back yard in the early 1980s. For over 30 years the Trust has worked hard to meet a range of social needs within Whangamata and the surrounding areas of Onemana, Opoutere, Hikuai, Tairua, Pauanui and Whiritoa.

It was decided that the Trust should undergo a name change in, 2007 to the Whangamata Community Services Trust. The Trust has grown in the scope of services it provides over time and proudly promotes itself as being a one-stop-shop for meeting community needs.

We envision a community where individuals and families experience superior support and guidance on their journey to building resilience and self-reliance, now and into the future.

To meet the social needs of our community by providing a safe, caring and confidential service, seeking to empower people to become resilient and self-reliant, now and into the future.
